Rebecca Rose, CVT and author of Career Choices for Veterinary Technicians: Opportunities for Animal Lovers, joins us for a discussion of today's veterinary technicians, including today's roles, how to advance one's career and what students should be doing to succeed.Rebecca Rose is the owner of Red Valley Rose Consulting, LLC, in Gunnison, Colorado. Rebecca and her co-author, Dr. Carin Smith, recently completed their second collaboration together, Career Choices for Veterinary Technicians, which was published by The American Animal Hospital Association this past March. Rebecca is Veterinary Pet Insurance's liaison to the veterinary community in Colorado, giving educational classes to technician students and veterinary healthcare teams. She was the Colorado Association of Certified Veterinary Technicianâs first administrator and currently acts as the groupâs historian while chairing the Ethics Adhoc Sunset Review Committee. She was also awarded the Veterinary Technician of the Year award in 2001 by The Colorado Veterinary Medical Association.
